Our Mystery Artist for April is...  Andy Warhol!     Andy Warhol (born name Andrew Warhola) was born August 6, 1928. Andy Warhol died in 1987. Andy Warhol was an American artist, film director, and advertiser. Our Mystery Artist for March is...  Salvador Dali !     Salvador Dali is a Spanish surrealist artist. He was born on May 11, 1904 and created artwork until he passed away on January 23, 1989. Surrealism was a very bizarre art form that allows the artist to tap into the subconscious mind. The artwork was very dream like and had a lot of juxtaposition in the artwork.Juxtaposition means when two things that are opposite or unlike each other are placed close together. Dali studied with other famous artists Pablo Picasso, Rene Magritte, and Miro in Paris.  To the left, we see Salvador Dali's most well known artwork, The Persistence of Memory. This artwork was painted in 1931. Look at the picture above and think about what you see. What do you think this artwork is about?  Many think this artwork is about Dali's childhood.
