Our Mystery Artist for November is... Romero Britto ! Romero Britto is a Brazilian artist, painter, and sculptor. He was born on October 6, 1963 and is still creating artwork today! Romero Britto's artistic style is a fusion of pop art (great artists like Andy Warhol and Roy Litchenstein are pop artists) and cubism (Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque are the most well-known cubist artists). Some might even say his work reminds them of graffiti art we may see. Britto uses bright colors and bold patterns in his artwork. He says this is a visual expression of hope, happiness, and dreams. Romero Britto does a lot of community based artwork. Community based art is when artwork is made for a specific community to start a conversation between the people in the community. Britto works with international organizations such as St. Jude's Hospital, American Red Cross, and Best Buddies International. To the right there is one of Romero Britto's artwork called C
